“It don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep."

The sun is rising up over the distant palm trees, beaming past the brim of your Cowboy beach hat like a laser through the plantation blinds of your new oceanfront Villa. The humming sound of small fishing boats returning from their early morning haul buzz in the distance, drowning out the excited voices of children collecting sea shells on the fresh washed beach. You taste a soft salty breeze blow across your face as you rock in your hammock and take in the sweet smell of Chorizo and eggs, being prepared your personal chef. As you drift in and out of sleep, relishing the life you have built for your family, you are abruptly awakened by the sounds of "Mr. Slick: pitching from the front of the room, as he moves in to close the deal: “That’s it just $495 to start your new business and $169.95 a month for your auto ship! Just sign up and let the system do the work for you!”

“Always take a good look at what you’re about to eat. It’s not so important to know what it is, but it’s critical to know what it was.”

You’re sold. After all this slick fellow said it only took him 14 months to make the big bucks. And, he assures me it will only take two shorts years to achieve the same - if I focus and put my trust (and future) into “the system.” Only two short years and I can quit my job, move to the beach and start my REAL life. I should give the Missus a call to see what she thinks. What the heck? Why waste time? I know she’ll agree. Heck, she'll be able to quit her job too! Just sign me up! Like you said, I’ll make back my original investment before my credit card bill even arrives!  This is going to be a cinch! You’re excited and ready to get moving! You slap your credit card on the table and within seconds yer’ phone pings you with a Welcome Letter! Your new business is up and running.

“The hardest thing about learning to ride is the ground.”

You hang around for a while with Mr. Slick counting all the folks you know that need to shed a few pounds. He tells you he’s gotta a good feeling that you’re gonna be the next hero at the rodeo. He hands you his card and assures you, together, yer gonna take this town by storm. So, you shake, as every honorable cowboy does, and head out the door. As you stroll into the parking lot, you reach your car and glance up to wave goodbye to your new hero. You glance up quick enough to see a beat up truck with bald tires fire up it's engine with a heavy gust of black smoke. Yer' heart sinks into yer' belly, as you realize that it's Mr. Slick gazing back at you through the black haze and the duct taped window of his 1992 Ford Ranger pickup.

“Just 'cause you're following a well-marked trail don't mean that whoever made it knew where they were goin'."

Trust me when I tell you, companies represented by leaders like Mr. Slick can easily lure in people with hype and gold carrots (lake lots in the desert) only to sizzle and fizzle. With a meteoric rise, they fade quickly with the lifespan of a shootin’ star. A moment’s glimmer on a dark summer night - they burn fast and bright and quickly fade, leaving everyone in the dark.

Cowboy Creed For Recruiting: Don’t be the goat in a flock of sheep. Build an ethical and loyal team. Set realistic expectations. Be straight. Stick with the facts. And be sure you under commit and over deliver.

If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then, to make sure it's still there with ya.

As you peer over the edge of the mountainside looking down to the valley below, you see thousands of potential prospective - wild bovine just waiting to join your herd.  You're already counting the pesos you'll make when you bring this herd in to your new vast green ranch.

As you plan your attack, you spot a lone small cow off to the side grazing.  You sneak down the ridge and slowly coax her away from the crowd. The two of you create a strategy and set out on your own little cattle drive to round up the herd. Shortly after the big pitch and close, you look back and notice the rest of the herd is not following.

Gather a big herd .. the bigger the better!
What's wrong?  Why aren't the others following?  You thought this cow had some serious influence and connection with the other cows.  Guess not. So, you head back in and find another small cow off to the side. You spend the entire day getting her on board and committed to follow you and run another pitch and close with the herd.

Off you go again. But, the cattle still don't follow.  In fact, they are headed away in the opposite direction, following a few alpha bulls aimlessly without question. Why isn't your plan working? Self-doubt sets in. Maybe you're not the cowboy you thought you were! Maybe you should tell your two cows you made a mistake and the entire bovine industry and population - not you - is to blame!

Or maybe, just maybe, you took the easy road - the path of least resistance - to pick off the low hanging fruit instead going after the head honchos. The effort and time you expended to snag a few stragglers would have been put to better use engaging the alpha bulls. You would have been better served to pitch "true leaders" on the benefits of your vast, green, bountiful ranch. Help them envision how the herd will flourish. More importantly, hand them the road map to lead their own herd to the promised land.

Once they are on the trail, do yourself a BIG favor - get out of their way! Best way to divert a herd is to circumvent the authority of the lead bulls or create conflict among the leaders (and there does needs to be a few not just one). A divided herd is more susceptible to predators, poachers, and rustlers - and trust me they are out there.

Praise and edify your lead bulls and make sure they do the same with their herd. You want to create new alpha leaders of your calves and foster a solid, safe and steady environment others will rustle to join. It's your job as the ranch owner to build a solid herd on your first big ranch and when it's running on its own, don't sit back on your saddle!  Start your second ranch and look for a another set of alpha bulls!

Ranching is hard work but the payout is awesome! So, get busy and, as always, give me a shout if I can lend a hand - cause y'all know - I'm in this for the long haul.

Happy Trails,

Brad

Life is a rodeo. Take it as you get it!

It was great to announce Terra Biotech has generously extended the $200 Dollar Fast Start Blitz until next Sunday, July1, 2012. This isn't our first trip to the rodeo. So, saddle up quickly for another FAST ride! Rest assured there won't be a third opportunity anywhere on the horizon.

Warren extended this offer specifically to help those of you who just joined the herd. If you are new to the team, you also have the ONE-TIME opportunity to promote to Senior Executive (SE) with our 3 in 7 Program. When you enroll your first 3 new Qualified Executives (QEs) within your first 7 days, you promote to SE  and make $600 in Fast Start Bonuses. You do half the work AND get paid DOUBLE for your efforts.

And, the rest of us aren't just along for the ride. We have an opportunity to join the blitz to enroll new QE's to qualify for the $200 Fast Start Bonus. I know many of us just made it under the wire last night with our last few enrollments. So, let's get busy building and haul in cash like hay on payday! Remember, there is no limit on the number of QE's you can enroll. As always, let me know if I can lend a helping hand. We're in this rodeo together and, like you, I'm in for the long haul!

Don't worry about bitin' off more'n ya can chew - yer mouth is probably a whole lot bigger'n ya think.

There is nothing better than to see a pictures that captures and defines your purpose in life. I cannot begin to express the feeling I had when I received Jamie's email today on the kids in Ghana. It brought me immediately back to our company mantra - nourish your body. nourish your life. nourish the world.

After months of building my business, I finally came full circle and realize the POWER our purpose gives each and every one of us. As an active member of this incredible journey I am fulfilling my lifetime goals: 1. provide abundance to my family. 2. be a responsible steward of my health and the health of my family 3. be an active part of the community and give back to leave the world a better place.

When I look into the faces of these children, it gives me a clear picture of the up and coming months. I see my future and the future of these children who all deserve a shot at life. Ten thousand servings is only a beginning. I for one am going to step up my efforts and look at each bottle of Nectr sold, as a life saved.

I am committed to making more money in the next sixth months than I have made in my entire life. I invite you to do the same. The more money we make - the more children we serve and save. I welcome all of you to stop and think - where else in the world can we own and operate a business where we invest in your health, wealth and legacy with a single action? Real legacies don't just leave cash they make a REAL impact and a sustainable difference in the world. Own it, share it and work it. I'm in this for the kids - I'm in this for the long haul! And remember, don't be afraid to bite off more than you can chew! Do it for yourself - do it for the kids!

Happy Trails,

Brad

Ain't Nothin' like ridin' a fine horse in new country ...

Every morning before my feet hit the floor, I take a moment to ground myself . I envision what the future holds for me. I see my family in a larger more beautiful home here in Springfield with a larger stable for Amy’s horses. It’s not a far reach from where we are today. But, it’s the perfect home to raise our children in, welcome our grand children and enjoy the rest of our lives together. I walk into my home office and double check the bank balances, including in the kid’s trust accounts and smile, knowing no matter what happens to me – the kids and Amy will be more than okay. I follow the laughter of my children and stroll into the kitchen, kiss my wife, hug the kids and enjoy a delicious breakfast with my family. We finish up, head toward the front door and out on to the circle drive. The kids hop in Amy’s car to head for school, knowing she will be there to pick them up later. I jump into my truck to head to Panera for a cup of coffee, a morning paper and the opportunity to make a few calls to my business partners around the country. And, one of my favorite past times, meet a few new people. It’s a ritual, daily habit, I have kept since the day I first started my Terra Biotech business. Nothing has really changed since then except our financial status and network of friends. In my vision, we have everything we need. We have everything we want. We have a life that exceeds all the dreams Amy and I dared to conceive - and it quickly becomes a once upon a time story about a Cowboy who believed in his dreams..

Each day a piece of my vision –our dreams - slip into reality, as I continue to achieve one goal after another. Soon, things will be moving so quickly I won’t have the luxury to enjoy the journey. So, each day I take a moment not only to envision what the future holds but also to acknowledge and give thanks for the achievements and blessings we enjoy today.

I invite you to start every day with the vision of your future, acknowledgement of your achievements and thanks for your blessings. More importantly, I challenge you to make a daily habit to build your business. Find your own “Panera” or "new country"– a place to meet new people a "fine horse" or "daily ritual" - a call a day, a sample a day, an email a day. No matter how big our small, do something each and every day to build your business and watch your own dreams fade into reality. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Like the Lone Ranger and every Cowboy, I believe in my Creator, my country and my fellow man. And so, I believe in the beauty of our dreams and the ability to watch them fade into reality with the same inevitable beautiful of a sunset on a warm summer day.

Happy trails,

Brad
